Tamraght beach and Devil’s Rock

The main beach in front of the village is a sandy beach break, and Devil’s Rock (also called Imourane) is its neighbour to the south. Both have a wide inside section of white water, which is exactly what you want in your first lessons. With a small to medium swell they are also fun for intermediate surfers on the outside peaks.

Banana Point

At the river mouth in Aourir, just south of Tamraght, Banana Point is a right-hand point break. It is sheltered from the north wind and comes alive when the swell is too big for the beach breaks, so it is a good winter option for improving surfers.

Crocro and the reefs to the north

Anchor Point and the Taghazout points

Ten minutes north, Taghazout is home to Anchor Point, one of the most famous right-hand point breaks in Africa. Getting to Tamraght

• By plane: fly into Agadir Al Massira (AGA). The drive to Tamraght takes roughly 45 minutes to an hour.
• Airport transfer: the simplest option, especially if you land late. Most camps include or arrange it.
• Taxi: grand taxis run between Agadir, Aourir, Tamraght and Taghazout. Agree the price before you leave.
• From Marrakech: the drive to the coast is about three and a half to four hours.
