A group surf trip to Morocco is one of the best holidays you can share. Whether you are six friends, a surf club, a university society, a company team or a yoga retreat, the mix of waves, sunshine, Moroccan food and long evenings on a rooftop brings people together in a way few trips do.
Planning for a crowd can feel daunting, though. This guide walks through how group trips work at our surf camp in Tamraght, from rooms and lessons to excursions and quotes, for groups of any size up to 130 people.
Who comes on group surf trips?
Almost every kind of group works well here:
- Friends and families: birthdays, reunions, stag and hen weekends with a healthier twist.
- Surf clubs: a week of consistent waves in the winter season, with guided sessions at the points.
- Universities and student societies: big groups, mixed levels, a fixed budget and a lot of energy.
- Schools: structured days with lessons, culture and plenty of supervision.
- Companies: team trips and offsites that combine time together in the water with space to talk.
- Yoga retreats: rooftop yoga at sunrise, surf in the morning, rest in the afternoon.
Why Morocco works so well for groups
The coast between Agadir and Taghazout is made for mixed groups. Within a short drive there are gentle sandy beach breaks for first-timers, such as Tamraght beach, Devil’s Rock and Crocro, and famous right-hand points like Anchor Point and Killer Point for experienced surfers. Everyone surfs the same morning, just at a spot that suits them.
It is also easy to reach. Agadir Al Massira airport is about 45 minutes to an hour from Tamraght by car, and the sunny, mild climate means you can plan a trip almost any month. Our guide to the best time to surf in Morocco explains what each season is like.
How to plan a group surf trip to Morocco, step by step
- Pick your dates. Decide on a rough window and how many nights. Most groups choose five or seven, but any length works.
- Count heads and levels. Roughly how many people, how many complete beginners, how many who already surf, and how many non-surfers.
- Choose a base programme. Start from one of our packages or build your own from scratch.
- Add the extras. Excursions, yoga, a hammam, a cooking class or a sunset camel ride.
- Sort rooms. Decide who shares and who wants a private room.
- Ask for a quote. Send us the details and we will put together a programme and price.
Choosing a programme
Our packages are a good starting point because they already include the essentials. Each one is shown day by day, with a map, in our day-by-day itineraries.
| Package | Best for | Highlights |
|---|---|---|
| 5-Day Surf Trip | Short breaks, first-time surfers | 3 days of lessons, Souk El Had, half-day Paradise Valley |
| 7-Day Surf & Explore Trip | Clubs, students, friends | 4 days of lessons, Imsouane with sandboarding, hammam and massage |
| 7-Day Morocco Discovery Trip | Non-surfers, culture-focused groups | Essaouira and Marrakesh, camel ride, Amazigh cooking class |
Groups often mix and match. Surfers might take the Surf & Explore Trip while partners or colleagues who do not surf join the Discovery Trip, with everyone together for breakfasts, some excursions and evenings. If you want full control, our build-your-own VIP option lets you choose each night, meal and activity separately.
Rooms and staying together
Our base is a family riad in the centre of Tamraght, with a courtyard, a rooftop with sea views and fast wifi. For groups, shared rooms keep costs down and make it easy to get to know each other, while private rooms suit couples, group leaders or anyone who needs a bit more space. You can see the options on our rooms page.
For the largest groups, we organise accommodation so that everyone stays close together and meets for meals, lessons and excursions. Tell us early how many people you expect, and we will plan the rooms around you.
Surf lessons for mixed levels
The biggest worry for group organisers is usually level. What if half the group has never surfed and the other half is experienced? It is simple: we split people by level. Beginners learn in small groups with local instructors on the sandy beaches, while intermediate and advanced surfers go where the waves suit them, including guided sessions at Anchor Point when conditions are right.
Everyone comes back to the riad with stories, which is half the fun. First-timers can read our guide to learning to surf in Morocco before the trip so they know what to expect.
Things to do together beyond surfing
Shared experiences out of the water are what make a group trip memorable. Popular choices include:
- A half-day in Paradise Valley, with rock pools and palm trees in the Atlas foothills
- A day trip to Imsouane with sandboarding in the Timlaline dunes
- A day in Essaouira and its UNESCO-listed medina
- Rooftop yoga, quad biking, or a camel ride at sunset
- A tagine cooking class, a local hammam and massage
- The busy stalls of Souk El Had in Agadir
How group quotes work
Every group is different, so we do not use a one-size price list. Send us your dates, the number of people, a rough idea of surf levels, room preferences and anything you would like included. We then build a programme around your group and send you a clear quote. You can adjust it until it fits your plans and budget.
Our package prices and VIP rates give you a good idea of costs before you ask. Packages are per person in a shared room, with a private room at €18 per person per night extra.
Ready to bring your crowd?
From six friends to 130 people, we love hosting groups and seeing a courtyard full of people who met as strangers leave as friends. Have a look at our group trips page, then get in touch, by email at [email protected] or by phone on +212 7 24 12 21 20. Tell us about your group and we will start planning together.
Frequently asked questions
How many people can come on a group surf trip at Surf Chill Vibe?
We welcome groups of any size, from a few friends to up to 130 people together, with lessons, meals and excursions organised for everyone.
Can beginners and experienced surfers come on the same group trip?
Yes. Surf groups are split by level, so beginners learn on gentle beach breaks while more experienced surfers head to spots that suit them.
Do non-surfers enjoy a group surf trip to Morocco?
Yes. Non-surfers can join excursions, yoga, a hammam, cooking classes or our Morocco Discovery Trip, which needs no surfing at all.
How do I get a quote for a group surf trip?
Contact us with your dates, number of people, surf levels and what you would like included. We will build a programme and send you a quote for the whole group.
